Box and Craft delivery and return policies

By agreeing to proceed with a custom made order the buyer has also agreed to the following supplier terms:

1. Shipping to the UK

Items are all shipped either by:

  • Royal Mail First class - small items typically under 1kg.
  • Royal Mail Parcel post - heavier items . Typically up to 2kg
  • Carrier DHL - Over 2kg , £10.00 for a value up to £50.00 and £12.50 for value over £50.00 - extra cost covers insurance
  • ParcelForce - Over 2kg for areas in the UK not covered by DHL
  • You can also collect any item - contact us to arrange a time as we are not a shop.

Destination restrictions on carriers:

  • Royal Mail and ParcelForce will ship to anywhere in the UK , including all Highlands and Islands for the same price
  • The DHL carrier rate only applies mainland UK, and excludes Highlands and Islands

Shipping times

  • Items in stock
    • We will despatch all items in 2 working days
  • Items made to order
    • Typically 5 weeks
    • Longer for 2 tier boxes
    • Depends on the order book
    • Sometimes we can make to order to a shorter lead time , please ask.
  • The despatch time depends on the shipping agent
    • First class - 1-4 days
    • Parcel Post - 3-7 days
    • Carrier - 2-4 days

Packaging charges

  • Typically we add 50p for packaging and paypal commission fees on the postage.
  • Prices reflect that fact that wooden items are heavy, and our larger boxes also require tracking and insurance.

Combined Postage

  • Our listings always show combined postage on multiples of the same item as standard and it will combine at check out. Look at the tab on the listing page called P&P
  • On separate listings , combined postage does not apply - please ask us for a total .
  • If you overpay postage, we will refund back the overpaid postage.

2. Shipping to Overseas

Items are all shipped by:

  • Airparcel smaller items
  • DHL carrier for Europe on the larger boxes - typically £25.00 for up to 10 kg 

Destination restrictions

  • Other than the UK we only ship to Ireland and mainland Europe
  • USA between £40.00 and £50.00 - rates do vary so please ask for a price before buying

Shipping times

  • We will despatch all items in 2 working days
  • The despatch time depends on the shipping agent
    • Air parcel up to 5 days
    • International carrier up to 4 days

Packaging charges

  • Typically we add 50p for packaging and paypal commission fees on the postage.

 

3. Returns and refund for the UK

All requests for refund, repair or replacement must be made within 5 days of receipt - this applies to any reason stated below:

Please note all boxes are thoroughly inspected before they leave us . They will not be shipped with either defects or damage.

Item not required or changed mind

  • We do accept returns for change of mind or not required , but this only applies to stock items IT DOES NOT APPLY TO ITEMS CUSTOM MADE TO ORDER
  • Item must be returned at buyer's expense
  • Refund will be for the purchase price of the item excluding the postage
  • Refund will be by paypal or cheque depending on payment methods

Item not received

  • We always keep proof of postage for Royal mail and claim has to be made on them by the buyer.
    • Royal will pay compensation for value of item and original postage
    • Claim forms are available from the post office
  • Carriers we can track the item and we will make a claim on the carrier
    • Refund will not be made until the claim is settled with the carrier

Damaged in transit

  • We always keep proof of postage for Royal mail and claim has to be made on them by the buyer.
    • Royal will pay compensation for value of item and original postage
    • Claim forms are available from the post office
  • For carriers , proof of damage will be required:
    • pictures of the damaged item,
    • pictures of the packaging
    • Claim will be made by us on carrier
    • Carrier may ask to see damaged item and ask for confirmation from the buyer on damage
    • No refund will be made until the shipping agent settles the claim

Faulty item

  • We will need to see pictures of the fault with the item
  • Contact is regarding the fault and we will advise possible fixes by email
  • In the event that these fault fixes do not work,the item will need to be returned at the buyer's expense for inspection to establish if the damage is due to a fault in the item or if it has been damaged by the buyer ( for instance storage in sunlight or near a heat source)
  • Once inspected, if the item is found to be defective we will attempt to repair an item and where this is not possible the item will be refunded . We do not offer replacements.
  • Return postage and postage of repaired items will be covered by the buyer if we believe the defect was caused by the buyer .
  • Do not return the item to us without our express permission, unless it is at your own expense, as we will not refund postage for items returned this way.

 

4. Returns and refund for overseas

Please note all boxes are thoroughly inspected before they leave us . They will not be shipped with either defects or damage.

Item not required or changed mind

  • No returns accepted

Item not received

  • Buyer will have to make claim on local postage agent .

Damaged in transit

  • Buyer will have to make claim on local postage agent

Faulty item

  • Contact is regarding the fault and we will advise possible fixes by email
  • In the event that these fault fixes do not work, we will refund - no replacement possible
  • Do not return the item to us , unless it is at your own expense, as we will not refund postage for items returned this way.

5. Cancellation of custom made orders (made to order)

The customer has the right to cancel at any time up to the point that the order has been booked with the carrier for collection . Once the item is shipped, cancellation is not possible . Cancellation must be agreed with the supplier for it to be valid.

The supplier reserves the right to cancel the order at any time up the point of despatch, for any reason, with or without customer agreement.

In both cases , a full refund will be made to the customer via paypal or cheque depending on the original payment method.

Once the refund has been made, the order is void  and any contract of sale is cancelled and any obligations on both sides are removed.

By agreeing to proceed with a customer made order the buyer has agreed to these cancellation conditions.
