Custom design and making service for wooden cufflink, watch and jewellery boxes

We offer a custom making service for gentlemen’s and ladies jewellery boxes, suitable for watches, cufflinks, rings and earrings, etc.

All our boxes are hand made and finished by us, based on your design requirements. They are made from real solid hardwoods, not veneer over MDF/Chipboard, or wood effect painted MDF like some high street and other ebay boxes.

Woods available Oak, mahogany and walnut are the most common. Oak is the cheapest, followed by beech and then walnut is the dearest. For walnut we can offer a choice of English walnut (paler and more subtle) or American Black walnut (darker and more obvious grain) We can also make from elm, cherry, London plane (lacewood), ash and tulipwood.
Exterior Finish  The most common finish is Danish Oil; three or four thin coats sanded to a silky finish Wax is also popular; a sealant is applied first, then three to four coats buffed in between. The wax option is more expensive We do not stain, varnish or lacquer, as this spoils the natural effect of the wood
Interior finish Black, burgundy and blue velour are in stock. The blue and burgundy options are more expensive For watch boxes , matching cushions of crushed velvet are supplied  We can supply other colours of velour, but these are more expensive and have to be bought in especially.  We can also line in leather, and prices will be quoted on request.
Lid designs  The standard lid is a flush lid, with lightweight brassed hinges  We also do an overhang lid that extends over the sides and fronts, this is a more expensive option as it takes more wood.  We can supply some types of catches, and will quote on request.
